Chris Brown pleads not guilty in Rihanna abuse case

Today, Chris Brown, the guy who beat down Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time, plead "not guilty" in his trial in Los Angeles, California today. Brown, 19, entered the plea at his arraignment in the Los Angeles Superior Court where the trial will be held.

Donald Etra, Rihanna's lawyer, is reported to have mentioned to reporters that she had hoped that a plea bargain could be agreed on instead of having a trial. Rihanna said that she didn't want to have to testify against the scumbag that beat her down, but she said she would if she had to. Chris Brown did not speak to reporters, nor did his attorney.

The Hearing for Chris "Bruised Knuckles" Brown is set for April 29th and the Judge will be Patricia Schnegg. The prosecutors have said Brown attacked Rihanna in a rental Lamborghini in February. The picture of the bloody and bruised face of Rihanna showed up on the internet shortly after.

Chris Brown has said he was going to counseling and "sorry and saddened" about beating up the sexy and talented Rihanna. Brown could face up to four years if he is found guilty, and the charge is "threatening to commit a crime which would result in death and great bodily injury." And that is a hot body to injure criminally.

The police report said Brown shoved Rihanna's head against the passenger window, repeatedly punched her in the face, bit her ear and finger (like Mike Tyson), and put her into a headlock. At one stageBrown told Rihanna: "I'm going to kill you."

Brown broke onto the Billboard charts in 2005 at the age of 16 with his single "Run It!" and sold 2 million copies of his self-titled debut album.

Barbados-born Rihanna also released her debut album in 2005 and had a No. 1 hit single with "S.O.S." less than a year later. She followed with three more No. 1's -- "Umbrella," "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia."
